B.Sc. (l’Université de Bogazici, Istanbul), M.Sc. (l’Université d’Ottawa), Ph.D. (l’Université d’Ottawa) Güneş Karabulut Kurt (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree (with High Hons.) in electronics and electrical engineering from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2000, and the M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Ottawa, ON, Canada, in 2002 and 2006, respectively, where she was a Research Assistant with CASP Group from 2000 to 2005. She was with TenXc Wireless, Canada, from 2005 to 2006, with Edgewater Computer Systems Inc., Canada, from 2006 to 2008, with Turkcell Research and Development Applied Research and Technology, Istanbul, from 2008 to 2010, with Istanbul Technical University from 2010 to 2021. In addition, she is an Adjunct Research Professor with Carleton University. She is currently an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering with Polytechnique Montréal, Montreal, QC, Canada. She has received the Turkish Academy of Sciences Outstanding Young Scientist (TÜBA-GEBIP) Award in 2019. She is currently serving as an Associate Technical Editor for the IEEE Communications Magazine, an Associate Editor of IEEE Communication Letters, an Associate Editor of IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, and an Area Editor of IEEE Transactions on Machine Learning in Communications and Networking. She is serving as the Secretary of IEEE Satellite and Space Communications Technical Committee and also the Chair of the IEEE Special Interest Group titled “Satellite Mega-constellations: Communications and Networking.” She is a Distinguished Lecturer of Vehicular Technology Society Class of 2022. She is a member of the IEEE WCNC Steering Board and a Marie Curie Fellow.

B.Sc. en génie électrique – Communication Systems (IUST, Tehran, Iran, 2013), Ph.D. en génie électrique – Electromagnetique and Micro-ondes (University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada, 2019) Elham Baladi (Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and communication systems from the Iran University of Science and Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree in electromagnetics and microwaves from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada, in January 2019. She developed a novel class of resonant metasurfaces during her Ph.D. degree and investigated their applications to shielding, imaging, and selective transmission. She was a Lecturer at the University of Alberta (Winter 2017) and York University, Toronto, ON, USA (Winter 2020). She was a Post-Doctoral Fellow with the University of Toronto, Toronto, from February 2019 to February 2021, where she conducted research on the modeling and development of reconfigurable antenna arrays for space applications. She was an Antenna and RF Filter Design Engineer with Syntronic Research and Development Canada, Ottawa, ON, Canada, from February 2021 to August 2022, where she worked on the development of RF cavity filters, duplexers, and multiband antennas for 5G, IoT, and wireless communication systems. She joined the Electrical Engineering Department, Polytechnique Montréal, Montreal, QC, Canada, as an Assistant Professor, in September 2022. Her research interests include the development of novel multiband multi-beam antenna arrays, metasurfaces, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, microwave sensors, and radar imaging techniques.

Cirine Chaieb

M.Sc. degree in computer engineering (National Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology, University of Carthage, Tunisia, 2016) Cirine Chaieb (Student Member, IEEE) received the engineering degree in computer networks and telecommunications from the National Institute of Applied Science and Technology, Tunisia, in 2016. She is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in computer science with the University of Quebec, Montreal, Canada. Her research interests include wireless communication networks, resource allocation, and machine learning.
