IEEE Ottawa YP & WIE Networking Event
The IEEE Ottawa Section is pleased to promote the kickoff event of the IEEE Young Professionals Lunch & Learn series, co-hosted with IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) and technical chapters.
This session features Prof. Burak Kantarci from the University of Ottawa, a leading expert in AI-enabled secure networking and 6G communications.
Talk Title
Spectrum Intelligence for 6G and Uncrewed Systems (UxS): Security, Coexistence, and Edge Autonomy
Overview
Uncrewed systems (UxS) are rapidly expanding across logistics, infrastructure monitoring, and public safety. This talk explores how machine learning is transforming wireless communications in shared and contested spectrum environments.
Key topics include:
- Detection of jamming and spoofing at the RF level
- Dynamic spectrum access and interference classification
- Federated and multi-agent learning for distributed coordination
- The role of 6G in enabling resilient autonomous systems
This is a great opportunity to learn about cutting-edge research while networking with professionals over lunch.
