WIE South Saskatchewan
The South Saskatchewan WIE Affinity group (or WIE SoSask) is a community to help affirm and raise awareness of the expanse of contributions to science, research and technology brought forth by women who choose an Engineering or other STEM career path.
Our primary goal is to develop a supportive environment where all genders may come together to create a community of support and technical learning within South Saskatchewan.
The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist (APEGS) has also made a commitment to the 30 by 30 initiative set by Engineers Canada. This initiative has a goal of raising the percentage of newly licensed engineers who are women to 30% by the year 2030. WIE SoSask is in full support of this initiative, and welcomes member suggestions for supporting events.
This Affinity Group was established in April 2021 by a combined group of students, industry employees and education professionals.
