IEEE Workshop on Power System Protection

Don’t miss the IEEE KW section’s first full-day workshop on power system protection. The PES chapter is pleased to announce the upcoming workshop offered by EATON.

When: June 5th, 2019
Where: University of Waterloo, MC 2060. 
What: Introduction to power system protection and SKM software  
How much: $20 for IEEE Members and Students

14:15-15:15 Review of arc flash hazard basics and considerations in industrial environments
15:15-16:15 Simulations with SKM software
16:15-16:30 Conclusions


 

Having completed this workshop, students will be able to:
  • Interpret simple electrical single-line diagrams and understand protection equipment in industrial/commercial environments
  • Understand short circuit analysis and protective device coordination using basic device models in SKM Software
